About the Speaker:
Peter brings 25+ years’ experience leading and deploying continuous improvement programs within manufacturing, logistics, service, and healthcare industries. Peter is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, an ASQ-Certified Quality Engineer, and an APICS-Certified Supply Chain Professional. Peter began his career in Japan as a M.I.T. scholar in 1986. There he worked with Dr. Edwards Deming and learned Japanese quality principles including the Toyota Production System, Kaizen, and Gemba Walks.
Peter spent 10 years with AT&T as a Sr. Black Belt and 4 years as Director of Process Excellence for Cbeyond Communications. As Managing Partner of Riverwood Associates, LLC, Peter has designed LSS training curriculums and trained / certified 3,200+ LSS Yellow Belts, 900+ Green Belts and 50+ Black Belts. He has written more than 80 articles on quality and process improvement in ASQ’s Quality Progress, Quality Magazine, Quality Digest andSCMNow. Since 2018, Peter has been the author of the SCMNow Magazine’s Operational Excellence column. Peter holds a B.S. in Construction Engineering from University of Florida; a M.S. in Civil Engineering from M.I.T.; and an MBA from Georgia State University. Since 2014, Peter has served on the Board of the ASQ Atlanta Section including Section Chair, Immediate Past Chair and Programs Chair.
